Beautiful Ratha yatra Photos

Found these photos of our friend, Tulasi, leading kirtan at Ratha-yatra on Sunday. I knew her when she was a tiny baby, and now here she is in the middle of London, amidst throngs of people, leading them strongly in kirtan. She had loads of energy when she was a baby, too!

There's also a slideshow with more pics here

Other than that, a quiet day at the front. Just rested mainly. Watered the garden. Pottered around.

Snowshill

Some pictures I took at Snowshill. I'm in a convalescent stage, now, and supposed to be outdoors as much as possible, doing 'gentle, pleasurable activities.'

Snowshill is just over an hour's drive from where we live. I put the time in meditating on Ratha-yatra and imagining what my friends were doing there, the atmosphere, Lord Jagannatha, the kirtans and the bliss.

Had a simple lunch in the shade of an ash tree, and relished being in the heart of the Cotswolds on a summer day. I felt relaxed and strong such as I haven't felt for many years, and grateful in my heart to Krsna for that.

A Glorious Day

Today was glorious Ratha-yatra day, in London. Many of my friends were there, and I felt like a Cinderella left behind at home. So I looked on the London Rathayatra website and found this charming video taken at last year's festival. It put me in the mood! - I clapped my hands and danced and sang along. It doesn't matter what age, shape or size you are, kirtan is for everyone - you don't even have to be able to sing in tune.

Fervent prayers flew from me to Lord Jagannatha, that I might be strong enough to go next year. But next year seems so far away. Anyway, it is incentive to do all the right things to get better.

It's such a wonderful festival - so many Vaishnavas together, singing their hearts out.

I Rediscover My Own Blog.

Well, I started this blog over a year ago - almost two - and entirely forgot of it's existence. It shows the state I was in, suffering from ME/CFS, that I couldn't remember who I was half the time!

I'm glad to have found that I have a blog - a blog is a fine thing to have. I can ramble away, here, to my heart's content and no-one will ever stumble upon me, I'm sure. I can put up some photos here, too - I am enjoying photography as a new hobby and roam the Cotswolds taking snaps up the lovely countryside. I'm not a good photographer, for the technical side baffles me, but I have fun with it. In fact, I think I will now upload some photos I took today, so I can make a proper post.
